Sixty years of Chandor coming together.

Chandor Club began in 1963 as a place for the village to meet, play and celebrate. It still is.

The club is founded
Villagers of Chandor form a club of their own for sport, culture and community.
1973
The Seamen Trophy kicks off
Three Chandor seafarers, Dominic Pereira, Caetan Xavier and Zose Vincent Costa, sponsor a football trophy. The first tournament starts on 15 August 1973 under club president Prof. Joaquim Menezes. The full story
2016
A clubhouse of our own
On 7 February 2016 the new clubhouse opened on land donated to the club by former president Fernando Coutinho and his wife Juliana, who cut the ribbon. The project cost nearly Rs 1.30 crore and was paid for entirely by the villagers, with an auditorium for shows, dramas and wedding receptions.
2025
Golden Jubilee champions
The club hosts and wins the 50th Seamen Trophy, beating Curtorim Gymkhana 1–0 before more than 4,000 fans.

Built by the village

Few villages anywhere have a clubhouse like this.

Every rupee of the clubhouse came from the people of Chandor, at home and abroad. The land it stands on was a gift from Fernando and Juliana Coutinho. That's why the club belongs to everyone who walks through its doors.
